Polarized Medium Frame Fit Lens width - 72mm Nose bridge - 20mm Arm length - 125mm
Designed for and as worn by Bear Grylls! Expedition uses the older SOS Chopper frame with upgraded lenses.
TAC polarized 1.0mm, anti fog inner treated, smoke tinted, polycarbonate lenses™ (PC) are shatterproof and 35 times stronger than glass or CR39 plastic lenses. DuraCoat™ scratch resistance is built into every lens to keep vision clear and true. An additional hydrophobic outer finish repels moisture off the lens surface.
These lenses provide 100% full Spectrum UV Protection (UVA and UVB) and block out infrared radiation, the leading cause of dry, scratchy eyes.
The lightweight Grilamid TR-90 nylon Composite Shock Frame™ (CSF) is fully rubber coated to enhance ruggedness, absorb punishment and provide ultimate durability and flexibilty. The Expedition features an integrated padded and vented face gasket, further enhancing the fit and providing complete protection from airborne dust and debris as well as blocking any peripheral glare and solar radiation. SofTouch™ non slip cushioned temple tips and nose bridges provides motion & bounce stability.
The wrap around design with face hugging ergonomic engineering provides maximum sunglass coverage and protection from sun, wind and debris both from the front and the sides.

These are probably one of the best pairs of sunglasses I have ever owned and rank alongside my Vuarnet skiing glasses, both in terms of design and functionality.
I use them for biking and trail running in Singapore, amongst other things, and they are superb. They are solid on the face yet incredibly comfortable and you feel that the lenses are cutting out what they should be.
Despite humid conditions and immense amounts of sweat, the glasses never fogged up. I will be taking them up to high altitude in the Alps in a couple of weeks and feel confident the will not disappoint, either on or off piste.

This extremely tough and rather cool high quality eyewear is worn by none other that survival expert Bear Grylls! The next time you see him on TV, have a look for these bad boys accompanying him thru hell and back.
The tough design stems from a durable motorcycle eyewear frame, with modified lenses.
The powerful matte black frame is comprised of Grilamid TR-90 Nylon, also known as synthetic titanium. This creates a very lightweight Composite Shock Frame™ (CSF) which can absorb punishment and provides ultimate durability and flexibility. The entire frame is coated in SofTouch™ non slip rubber to enhance its ruggedness and to ensure it doesn’t slip off your face. In fact, the snug, wrap around fit is quite incredible and very comfortable.
The Expedition features an integrated padded and vented face gasket, further enhancing the fit and providing complete protection from airborne dust and debris as well as blocking any peripheral glare and solar radiation.
In addition, SofTouch™ non slip cushioned temple tips and nose bridges provide motion & bounce stability.
The Expedition is kitted with Xtreme 2.2mm thick, shatter proof, polycarbonate lenses. Polycarbonate is 35 times stronger than glass or CR39 plastic lenses and is the material that bullet proof windows in motor vehicles are made from.
These dark smoke tinted lenses are UV400, EPF10 rated to meet or exceed Category 3 of the Australian Standard AS1067:2003 for UV and IR protection. They provide 100% full Spectrum UV Protection (UVA and UVB) and block out infrared radiation, the leading cause of dry, scratchy eyes.
In addition to SOS Eyewear’s standard issue optically correct de-centered lenses, there is a DuraCoat™ scratch resistance built into every lens to keep vision clear and true. It doesn’t stop there of course. The good folks at SOS have given these lenses an anti fog treatment as well as a hydrophobic finish which actively repels water, debris and dust.
In all, the Expedition is a true outdoor warrior- its wrap around design with face hugging, ergonomic engineering, provides maximum sunglass coverage as well as protection from sun, wind and debris both from the front and the sides.

So apparently back in the day when Bear Grylls was doing his thing, but sponsors weren’t looking, he chose to wear SOS Expedition sunnies. <note from SOS Editor, Bear still loves adn wears them). Going by the looks of them, these are the sort of sunnies that would attract a Navy SEAL’s attention. The lens is 35 times stronger than glass and they’re scratch resistant, so they’ll endure a lot of wear and tear without compromising your view (for when you’re commando rolling out of a moving hovercraft).
We’ll be frank – the cushioned SofTouch™ temple tips and nose pieces are a little unfamiliar at first. It’s like a cushioned web around the frame that not only means it sits softly around your eyes, but it fully encloses and protects them as well.
These shades look like they’re not to be messed with.
